KSMH+
Mood:  don't ask
Topic: Registry
WOW!

OK, so back in 2012 two different research groups anounced the discvoery of the Gaiting gene. This mutation makes it possible for a horse to perform gaits beyond the starndar walk, trot, and canter (or walk, jog, and lope if you're into Western stuff). As it turns out this mutation is in EVRY GAITED BREED ON THE PLANET.

Oh my lord O_O

KSMH got a MASSIVE overhaul today as a result of incorporating this reasearch...there's more work still to do, but it's pushing 11pm and I am exhausted. Bylaws have been updated, Accepted Breeds listing has been updated with more to verify there, and Registry Books landing page has been updated. I still have to copy edit everything, finish verifying the Breeds list, and overhaul the actual Books (which will be a veritable nightmare). Links to the research are on the registry pages, have fun reading about this gene.

Long story short: If you have a horse registered with us and it is able to Rack then it is now CERTIFIED. Non-gaiting horses are APPROVED. Gaiting horses that don't Rack can keep whatever declaration that currently have. Whether the horse is in Main Book or Appendix will be based on it's pedigree, confirmation, and foal record - and that will also be getting adjusted; All currently registered animals will be subject to re-inspection of Conformation to evaluate for Main Book inclusion. Watch the blog and the FB group for a full listing of affected horses (though we'll try to email as many as we can).

CPHS got a partial overhaul tonight as well, with more pics added and a comparison note about Champagne. Additionally I also manged to get all the CC links updated, all the ES misdirectes fixed, links throughout the site were overhauled, updated all 4 barns, updated 3 profiles, and added a page for a new stud colt.

And it only took me 13 hours O_o.

CPHS + KSMH
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Registry
ES changed how their Registries are run, thus our registries are no longer Officially considered valid.

ES has no color registry template at this time, therefore mixed breed Creams and Pearls have no home with them (likewise new foundy TB's). Gaited Breeds (including KSMH) are now managed by the Gaited Breeds Association.

Circle F is the Original Open Cream Registry (outside of specifically Palomino or Buckskin) and the Original KY Spotted Mountain Horse Registry for the equine simming comminty at large. We still maintain the ES horses registered with us; those horses and their offspring will always be welcome here.

CPHS and KSMH are now Officially endorsed by SIMply Equine and affiliated with SIMquestrians. Affiliation is Pending with S3BA.

All Registrations from all Sim communities will be honored by both Registries. If your horse is registered with a vaild Registry in another community please provide links to their Registry Books for verification purposes so we can register the foals. (if linking fails then a screen cap of the book is accepted).

SIMply Equine
Topic: Registry
If you've been checking in then you know that we were once part of Equus-Sims. With their change of policies in January 2013 it was felt that they are moving in a direction that is not for us.

We were approached by another stable and it was decided that we would launch an independant community. SIMply Equine is but one of many that have been influenced and initiated by the changes at ES; unlike many other communities, however, SIMply Equine (SE) is dedicated to the freedom of the player.

  • We are hosted purely on FaceBook so there will never be any server fees or data overages to shut us down.
  • Being on FB means there is one less password for our members to have to remember.
  • TS3 allows direct upload of in game pictures to the players linked FB account; being on FB means you don't need photobucket in order to share your ponies.
  • FB also allows for .sims3pack and other game files to be uploaded to a group post or to a personal message so if your email goes down there is still a way to buy and sell stock with your friends.
  • SIMply Equine does NOT limit the number of Foundation stock or overall stock on a players game; the only limit is what the player decides they are capable of managing.
  • SIMply Equine places no limit on Registries hosted by players: if you want to host 20 registreis you may, if someone else has TB so what - host another one, pink QH? sure thing! Fantasy colors are allowed at SIMply Equine. Again, the limits are dictated by the player, not the group.
  • The best part? If you have horses registered with multiple communities (ES, S3BA, Simquestrians, or any other) they are also welcome here. Have a stallion with ES and a mare from S3BA and worried about their foals? Don't be! Bring them to SE.

The entire premise of SE is to bring horse Simming back to what was right and good. We have heard the complaints aout ES new system and have tried to answer all af them. We love our members and want them to direct where we go as a community.

That said we are NOT meant to be in conflict or competition with Equus-Sims; they are a well-respected community and we treasured our time with them. There is no reason (in our minds, at least) why a horse can not be registered to multiple communities - we like to think that only adds to the fun!

Next time you're on FB swing by and check us out. We hope you decide to make your visit permanent <3
