Other:

Boss Tina was heartbroken to discover that her favorite stud at RFE had been gelded; finding his half brother still intact was a very welcome surprise. Fire Forged Myth was the first ever Certified KSMH, being a flashy and colorful DW was gravy. Tina found out about his change in status just before Christmas - and just in time to put up a request for a male-line relative in the ES Seasonal Gifting thread.
Gem at Spotted Acres came through with a "grade" half-brother and Tina jumped at the offer.

Per Ridgefall: A wild, Appy-marked, stallion got in with the Arab mares and covered a number of them; two colts resulted: Myth and Brandy.

Both are DW, Appy, and Gaited; even though their actual "dam of record" wasn't recorded they have enough ideal characteristics to be KSMH Main Book-Certified and thus very welcome here at CF. Since we were unsure of his exact bloodlines we sent for a complete Stock/Arab Genetic Disorder panel; very happy to report he is clear for all testable conditions.

Genetic Notes:

His W10 gene indicates he has GQ Santana somewhere in his background.

His Varnish gene will eventually result in his turning completely white as he ages.

Congenital Stationary Night Blindness is a genetic disorder carried on the Leopard Complex gene (LP). All Appaloosa marked horses will be at least carriers for the condition and horses which are homozygous (such as Fewspot and Snowcap) will be affected. A horse affected by CSNB will be functionally blind in dark areas, such as dim stables and arenas, and at night. Other than the natural risks involved with having a blind horse, CSNB horses bear no other negative health effects from the disorder.
