Angel was one of about a half-dozen mares leased for Captain's foal crop; she gave us his third foal and 1st colt! After celebrating our way into a stupor over the
gloriousness that is Angel and Mike, we made a purchase offer which was very quickly accepted.
We look forward to many more wonderful foals from this quality mare.
As a Main Book mare all her foals will be KSMH or AKMH eligible, regardless of sire.
With the approval of KSMH, Angel has been branded on her left thigh.
Genetic Notes
Congenital Stationary Night Blindness is a genetic disorder carried on the Leopard Complex gene (LP). All Appaloosa marked horses will be at least carriers for the condition and horses which are homozygous (Fewspot and Snowcap) will be affected. A horse affected by CSNB will be functionally blind in dark areas, such as dim stables and arenas, and at night. Other than the natural risks involved with having a blind horse, CSNB horses bear no other negative health effects from the disorder.
Being that she is homozygous for Leopard Complex: all her foals will be appaloosa marked.
