Track Pack - A-Ha

Take On Me (1984)

Here's the thing: for years I've been telling people that there's a kiss at the very end of my favorite music video...No one ever believed me, primarily because MTV and VH1 always cut the video short on broadcast. Well, now I am very happy to say IT IS SO NICE TO BE VINDICATED!!

I went hunting and decided I love YouTube very much. If they don't have a video, chances are the video doesn't exist. Guess what? They have the video!

Edit Feb 2009: Well, they HAD the Video until the label made them pull it. I do understand the threat of lawsuits but I don't understand why the Record labels feel the need to remove the videos when blocking is just as valid an option. They have Wierd Al, Michael and Janet Jackson, and a whole slew of others blocked, but at least you can still watch. Heck, they even blocked Sister Hazel and Hazel encourages free sharing of their stuff...I really Hate Warner Music Group now for making YouTube take down the videos. I did find some still up, though, and I'll be watching in case these get pulled too (though I really hope they don't)

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

TAKE ON ME
A-ha
1985

We're talking away
I don't know what
I'm to say I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, OK?

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

So needless to say
I'm odds and ends
But that's me stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is OK.
Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

(instrumental break)

Oh the things that you say
Is it life or
Just a play. My worries away
You're all the things I've got to remember.
You're shying away
I'll be coming for you anyway

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

The VH1/MTV release (2nd 12" vinyl release of the song)(pulled by WMG - I'm looking for another copy as it showed the ending)
Found it!!...look through the magazine to see the kiss. The absolute last moment before fade to black -
view in full screen and be ready on the pause button to catch it
and (very rare) Demo Version (original sound so it's on the poor side)

First is the "true to life" remake by YouTube contributor "DustoMcNeato" (It's ROFLMAO, I promise!)
This was submitted to digg by someone else before Warner Music Group had YouTube pull it. Bad WMG.
Make SURE you watch to the end for a riot of bonus a clip...

Next to it is the Take On Me 1984 Album Version set to photos of the Band (custom) The audio is from the First release of the song on 12" vinyl

I about died when I found this one. A-Ha Live in Times Square, NY, USA performing Take On Me. oohhh YEAH! IMO if the original artist is still performing the song then no one else needs to be covering it. And letting the Jonas Brothers do it is so wrong it's SACRILEGE.
A1 and Reel Big Fish have also covered it, though I think RBF's cover is too fast.
This video was shot by handheld so it's a little jumpy.

Nex to it is Live in Senagal 3 Jan 2006, uploaded Mar 2007 by YouTube member euge36; thanks dude!! (best viewed in full screen)
